Enraged Student

I app**** to Rosebank College in the year 2014, I got placement but failed to attend because of funding. I asked my student adviser, Ofentse to go through the contract with me briefly. He did so, but not once was a cancellation fee mentioned. In March of the same year I received a call saying I had a fee to pay at the college, a cancelation fee. I then told them I knew nothing of that and I was then advised to send an email to [Email Removed] which would eliminate the problem, which I did. I got no response to that email. I then got a call in December 2014 saying I should pay. And I then told them the very same thing about the cancelation email. Today, in 2015, my mother is being blacklisted for just under R11000. For something which we did not even benefit from. Suddenly I have to send in proof of the mail. Unfortunately I no longer have the mail. What should I do in such a case?? As my mother and I do not have the funds to pay R11000. The college needs to get it's admin and staff in check.
