Disappointing experience with exam accommodations

I am writing to express extreme my disappointment and frustration with Rosebank College, Port Elizabeth regarding their handling of my exam accommodation request.

In January, I was denied the opportunity to write an exam due to the school’s refusal to provide a reasonable accommodation for my health issues. Despite my efforts to communicate my needs, I was left with no choice but to miss the exam because I was told that there was nothing they could do for me short of me registering and completing the two modules despite me communicating that due to my health condition, it would be a heavy cost constraint and I would likely have to dropout if that is the case. I felt unheard and escalated the matter to the IIE, which led to the student wellness manager finding out about my situation. With the help of the student wellness manager, who only found out about my situation after the first exam had passed, I was able to write the second exam. However, the college cited cost constraints as the reason for denying my request to write the missed exam, despite me communicating my needs in a timely manner, before the exam was due to be written.

I was told that I will be able to write in June. I am displeased with this resolution as I asked for assistance before the exam was due to be written. This delay is emotionally distressing, financially implicating and affecting my future as I cannot seek employment.
