Deeply Disappointed with Rosebank College’s Lack of Compassion and Support
I am extremely disappointed with the way Rosebank College has treated me regarding my TESF module and overall support. During this time, I was ****** and lost my laptop — something I immediately communicated to the college through email. I even sent through the funeral notice of my brother, who was tragically shot, to explain the emotional and personal trauma I was going through.
Despite explaining everything and requesting just one day for my links to be opened so that I could submit my work for the week, no understanding or sympathy was shown. As a student who works **two jobs** to afford my studies and ensure payments are made on time, I expected at least a bit of compassion. Instead, I was threatened with having my **portal frozen** if I didn’t make the full payment immediately — during a time when I was already dealing with both grief and financial pressure.
This entire experience has been disheartening. I take my studies seriously, and I’ve done everything I can to stay responsible despite personal hardship. It’s shocking that an educational institution that claims to care about its students would show so little empathy when it’s needed most.
I truly hope Rosebank College reflects on the importance of **humanity and compassion** — because real student support goes beyond academic content; it’s about understanding the people behind the student numbers.
