Certificate

I studied BEI and graduated last year. On graduation day, I was given an envelope with my student number written on the outside. I misplaced the envelope without opening it. I later emailed the school to ask whether my certificate was inside the envelope, but I did not receive a response.

Recently, I received a phone call from someone claiming that I had lost my certificate and that she had found it. She called me using all my names as they appear on my ID, which made me believe her. She said that I must pay R300 and she would send my certificate to me via Paxi.

I then asked my friend about her certificate, and she told me that she did not receive hers because she has outstanding fees. When I questioned the caller about this, she said she does not know me personally. This made me confused about how she knows my full names exactly as they appear on my ID.

I asked her to send me a picture of the certificate, but she said she does not have WhatsApp. Because of this, I sent another email to the school requesting confirmation and asking them to show me a picture of my certificate, as I am unsure what to believe or whether the person who contacted me is telling the truth.
