A Lecturer Who Truly Cares About Her Students' Growth

From the beginning of the module, our lecturer made an intentional effort not just to teach, but to connect. Nelisiwe Mtshadi didn’t just deliver content; she made sure we understood it. She explained complex topics in a simple, approachable way and added fun, engaging activities to help us learn without feeling overwhelmed.

One area where I personally grew a lot was referencing. I’ve always found it tricky, but she went the extra mile to ensure we got better at it, taking the time to guide us, answer questions, and give feedback patiently. Because of her, I now feel much more confident and accurate when referencing academic work.

What stood out most was her passion and the fact that she wanted every student to succeed. You could feel the energy and care she put into each session. I genuinely hope to have her again for future modules. She’s not just a lecturer; she’s an enabler of academic confidence.
