Unfortunately, my experience with Room Mobile was extremely disappointing, particularly when it came to customer service and how my complaint was handled. I booked and paid for a hairstyle, but during the appointment I became unhappy with the way my hair was being done and communicated this to the stylist. Although I said she could continue, she ultimately decided to unplait my hair. I therefore ended up with no braids, while Room Mobile had my money, and I had to let the stylist go. I contacted the business to find out what the way forward would be, but I was repeatedly told that they do not offer refunds. They offered to redo my hair the following day, but this was not possible for me because of my work and school commitments. I also was not willing to wait several days to have my hair done while I had already paid for a service that I never received. They also offered me a “free” style, but I did not understand how this was considered free when I had already paid for the original service and had not received it in the first place. I was simply requesting my money back for a service that was not completed. On the Sunday, when I was trying to find out what the way forward would be, the phone was switched off. I was told this was because the stylist did not have data. I understand that things happen, but no further effective effort was made to resolve the matter, and I had to continuously follow up myself. I contacted the group, the Quality Assurance line and the Quality Assurance email, yet I constantly had to explain the situation and chase for a response. Thankfully, there was one employee who genuinely tried to help me, and I appreciate their effort. I was never able to speak to the manager. I eventually gave them two days to resolve the refund issue before I took the matter further. Even after those two days passed, I still had to contact them myself for an update, only to be blue-ticked. I then called and insisted on speaking to the manager. What was frustrating was that they were immediately quick to ask for my banking details so the refund could be processed, yet I still wasn’t allowed to speak to a manager. Throughout the entire situation, I felt that every attempt to speak to management was avoided. I have since received my refund, which I appreciate. However, it should not have taken this much effort, repeated follow-ups and contacting multiple channels to resolve an issue where I had paid for a service that I did not receive. I am sharing this because potential customers deserve to know what my experience was like. The actual service was disappointing, but the customer care afterwards was even more disappointing. If something goes wrong with your hair, be prepared to potentially wait days for a response while having to chase the business yourself. Based on my experience, I would personally think twice before booking with Room Mobile.

Terrible service, visit after visit
I don't know why I keep giving this business a chance, disappointment after disappointment. Their hairdresser arrive late, they dont know how to handle natural hair. Bad customer service and lack of professionalism. They tell you their price includes a complementary hair wash but they dont bring their shampoo. I have been to many salons including natural hair salons who know how to deal with natural hair to minimize pain and damage. These ones are just terrible beyond measure.

Poor business ethics, lack of professionalism.
It’s unfortunate that the lowest rating I can give this establishment is ONLY one star, because I actually rate them even lower than that. Their lack of professionalism, lack of timeous communication, lack of integrity, and a complete disregard of a client’s time is enough for me to never consider working with them again, or even refer their services to people in my network. I contacted Room Mobile Hair Salon on the afternoon of Friday the 27th of March. Sent them the exact specifications of the hairstyle I wanted (a TikTok video, showing the entire hairstyle end-to-end). They agreed that this is something they could do, asked when I’d like to do it and I communicated my availability for the following day for 12:30pm. Agreed on all details upfront. Sent them all the information they requested, agreed to their T&Cs. Come Saturday, I got added into a WA group with their selected stylist. At 12:40, I send a text asking for an update as the stylist was quiet and hadn’t indicated they were on their way to the appointment. Blueticked, no response. They decide to call me at 14:00, to tell me they can’t honour the appointment- some issue with their stylist. For context, I had left an event I was in attendance at to honour my 12:30 appointment with them, only for them to not pitch up at the agreed upon time and not even bother to give me a heads up beforehand to let me know of their internal issues. I extend grace and decide to work with them regardless, to come to a solution. Over the phone, it’s agreed with the assistant that the appointment will be moved to Sunday the 29th of March at 09:00. Again, all details are communicated via their official WA account and we come to an agreement. Come Sunday - at 09:52, I send a message asking if the stylist is still coming. The response I get is that my appointment was confirmed for Monday March 30th. Completely blindsided at this point, I ask who confirmed my appointment? These people tell me that I agreed to the Monday appointment over the phone call I had had with them on the Saturday. HUH?? I wasn’t aware their business practices include gaslighting their clients. When I recount the events of what actually transpired - only then do I receive an apology from them. Here’s why their apology was meaningless and actually insulting: 1. The blueprint was clear, I shared video evidence of what I was looking to do. They agreed, and when their stylist they paired me with wasn’t able to execute, they didn’t bother to update me. They only gave me an update 2 hours after our scheduled start. I moved things around out of respect for their time, but my time was disrespected. Nonetheless I was still open to working with them. 2. Gaslighting and lying about the time and day of the rescheduled appointment. I had to follow up on Sunday morning, again having moved things around to honour the commitment made between myself and Room Mobile. When I do the follow up, I’m told I confirmed the rescheduled appointment to Monday. Instead of taking accountability FIRST BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONES WHO DID THE MESS UP, THEIR SOLUTION WAS TO FIRST SHIFT BLAME ONTO ME AND LIE TO ME ABOUT SOMETHING I NEVER AGREED TO. Only once I recounted everything again for them, then do they decide to apologise and take accountability. Honestly, this experience left an extremely bad taste in my mouth, not only because of the lack of professionalism of this service provider, but also the lack of integrity they displayed. It’s not good enough to make a royal ***** up with a client, and instead of owning up like a decent human being, they first resort to gaslighting tactics. The apology that comes after that, has no merit as a result. Use their services at your own risk. Absolutely would not recommend.

Bad customer service
They have the worst customer service. I overpaid by mistake ad have since requested a refund for the difference. They asked for my account details and have since been quiet. It's two weeks now. I'm now being blueticked whenever I text them. No answer when I call.

Rooom Mobile Hairdressers Diabolical Service
This company is terrible. They are *************, dishonest, unprofessional ******. They over charged me for a hairstyle and when I asked for the difference to be reimbursed to me they keep saying “ it will be paid shortly” they have been saying this for a week now. On top of it all the stylist arrived 3hrs late! They are con artists that pay influencers to portray a great and professional front when they in actual fact treat their customers and employees like trash! Stay away from this company, it seems convenient but it ends up costing you as the client way more than you gain!

Worst company ever/ modern day slavery
Worst company to ever work for. They treat employees like slaves, always shouting at you for nothing, no time to rest, you can work for 24 hours non stop or given 1 hour rest or else you risk being fired. They promise to.oay you R10k fixed salary per month but it's all lies. They have no empathy for their workers yet their the ones who provide their income. Very rude and not deserving to be employing people. I will report to the labour office for further investigation. Avoid a all cost of you don't want to die from depression. That's why they always hiring because people don't stay and once you leave before the month ends there is no salary.
