ROAD PROTECT LICENSE RENEWAL
I sent Road Protect my license renewal request on the 31st October 2019 via the FNB App. Payment was done on the same day with an extra R200 for courier, all required documents were sent to them on the 7th November 2019. Today it is the 19th of December 2019, still nothing from them. Tomorrow the 20th December 2019 is the last day I will have access to my e-mails or the address I gave them for delivery, as I used my work address. They did not even send me a courtesy e-mail to update me on what is the delay.
I called them and they told me about load shedding, a company as big as them should have systems in place to circumvent load shedding in order for the them to service their clients on time, as we drive daily with looong expired discs.
The holidays are upon us and some of us will be travelling long distances with expired discs, my disc expired 31 October, I don't think there is a Traffic Officer out there who will listen to my Road Protect story. If I get a traffic fine as a result, they will be responsible for the payment.
I went to them to skip the long queues and thought the 5 to 7 business days waiting will not be a train smash as I was still within the 21 days grace period. The grace period came and went still nothing, and next week is Christmas already.
This experience has taught me that perhaps waiting on a queue for 2 hours is not such a bad thing because at least you will leave the Traffic Department with your new disc.
I don't know if perhaps the delay is because I am in Mafikeng in the North West Province, but if that is the case they should have not accepted my request or money for that matter.
This is incompetence from someone and I have lost all my patience waiting for nothing.
