I was quoted by Isaiah on Monday 9 June 2025 for a 16kwh system valued at R159 995 including installation and COC. The system consisted of: 1 x 16kwh Sunsynk inverter 4 x S/Volt 5.12kwh 100Ah 1C lithium batteries 20 x 550W Canadian panels However I opted for an additional 4 x panels bringing the total to R168 195. The installer was dispatched on 17 June 2025, and here is where the process started: 1. The installer called to say he is picking up the Deye inverter, I had to intervene to ensure I got a Sunsynk 2. When I got home, 4 x Zeus batteries was installed, when contacting the office Isaiah told me they decided it would be a better fit for my installation. No site inspection was done prior to the installation so they could not have determined this before hand. 3. Installer came back on 18 June 2025 to install 4 x S/Volt batteries, when I met the installer that evening he was exceptionally unhelpful, did not explain anything regarding the system, note that I am a first time solar user, nothing is marked in the DB boxes, so I had no idea how to operate the system, he was not willing to assist me with the application on my phone. His plea was that he will still have to come back to finish a couple of things. 4. I was literally forced to make full payment which I did 5. The next morning the power was off as the batteries was drained and I did not know how to switch Eskom back on, got through to the installer and was told which breaker to switch to be back on Eskom... 6. With the system off at least it got a full charge that day after 8 hours, which lead me to check the batteries only to realize these batteries have a discharge current of only 20Amps not IC which allows for a discharge of 100Amps. 7. I got commitment from the installer to return that Friday morning of the 20th of June 2025, but was later told to give him money for fuel if I needed him to return. 8. Isaiah asked me for my details on 19 June 2025 to enable the office to issue me with a COC. Highly irregular!! 9. I followed up with Isaiah and was told that S/Volt batteries do not come in 1C and that I would have to pay extra should I need 1C equivalent batteries, I argued this as I was quoted for 1C batteries and was told a manager will contact me. 9. Gift finally called me on Thursday 26 June 2025 and had the same argument that S/Volt batteries does not come in 1C batteries, he in fact tried to convince me that the 20A discharge is the same a 1C batteries. After I sent him specs on this he said he will get back to me on 30min. 10. I called endlessly on Friday 27 June to get an answer on my query but to no avail. 11. I contracted the services of and independent Electrician to ascertain the safety of the system, and numerous issues was pointed out with the main issues being, too thin wiring, too small circuit breakers and no earthing of any components. 12. I followed up on Monday 30 June 2025 and got through to Jonathan, on the same WhatsApp number on a WhatsApp call but was asked to explain the detail of my complaint from the start, Jonathan listened very patiently and said he will give the detail through to his manager who will in return get ahold of me. 13. I followed up on WhatsApp later during the day but my message was not responded too. 14. Today the 1st of July 2025 I tried calling them and my calls aren't being answered.

To summaries my issue, I paid for a very good system that has been installed very unsafely and non compliant with useless batteries in comparison to what I paid for, this company has no intention to rectify the issue and the installer is beyond arrogant.

I was quoted R80 000 to get the system to spec and compliant, as a result of the installation my insurance revoked the cover on the property until such time that I have the solar system rectified with a valid COC in place.

The saddest part of all this is that al the individuals accept the installer are all family member of Pastor Hastings Salanje of God's Chapel Global Ministries, address 1 Elsecar street, Kyasands, Randburg, the same address as on Risen Solar's facebook page. Isaiah Salanje, Gift Salanje and Peter Salanje are all part of this business that commit ***** through selling solar systems without completing the installations, with product inferior to what you paid for and without issuing a COC.

Do not engage with them you will ultimately lose thousands of your hard earned money.
