incorrect water charge on levy statement osdic centre

I am really disappointed in the service i have received from this institution they charged me incorrectly under water usage for 2 months in a row and when i ask i was told they are waiting for plumbers report but i have to pay whatever that is charged because i will be handed over to their legal department if i dont pay the full amount, this month when i send an email to enquire the person is no longer replying my emails, last month she said there was an issue with some units with water readings but this was never communicated with the owners i really cannot wait to sell this property the difference i am being charged is way too much and they said they not even sure if i will get a refund

Good Day,

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

Firstly, I would like to clarify our role in the billing process. The body corporate has installed individual water meters to accurately measure each unit's consumption. A professional external company is responsible for taking these readings and submitting them to us. As the managing agent, our role is limited to billing based on the information we receive. To date our billing has always been accurate in accordance with the readings received.

Regarding the inspection you mentioned, it was conducted by plumbers appointed by the trustees, not by us. The report has been sent to the trustees for further action, and I can confirm that no issues were reported with your meter. The sudden increase in your consumption over the last two months, compared to normal readings in previous months, suggests the possibility of a leak.

If the leak is within your unit, it would be the responsibility of the owner to address it. We strongly recommend that you investigate this possibility.

Concerning the emails, our portfolio manager informed you that we are awaiting further feedback from the trustees and will update you once we receive any new information. We have been following up regularly, and you were also given a written assurance that your account will be rectified if an issue with your meter is found.

I can also confirm that no debt collection measures have been initiated against you. In fact, we have registered your dispute to avoid any penalties on your account. I'm not sure why you believe collection actions have been taken, but I assure you this is not the case.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or require additional clarification.

Best regards,
Hendrik Hoffmann
