Rewards.Co are ignoring my requests for a full refund for a fault which was entirely theirs to begin with. Stay Far Away!

To express my utmost displeasure for this company in just a few words will not do any justice. I am currently embroiled in a situation with this **** of a company who are ignoring my requests to refund me for a non existent service (their fault) which they have mislead me into spending R1579.00 on.

Ive reported this matter on the Hellopeter platform on the 29th of October, where the full story is well documented, when an senior agent eventually responded on the platform, saying they would rectify the matter. More than two weeks has passed since my complaint had been raised and yet still nothing has been forthcoming. Allow me to briefly summarise the situation:

After being advised by a Rewards.Co agent that 5G coverage is available in my area, I finalised the purchase of the router. After switching on the device, after an hour and ten minutes, I discovered that the router is not picking up any 5G towers in my area. I reverted to contacting MTN activations as well as the MTN Coverage team, who all unequivocally confirmed to me that my area does not have the 5G coverage that will be compatible for the services to be able to work. I was then advised by the MTN coverage team to book the device in at an MTN store and then I will be issued with an IRMS number. I booked the device in at an MTN store on the 26th of October and received a IRMS number. I called Rewards.Co on Monday morning (29 October 2024), and issued them with my IRMS number and they advised that I will get a refund within 21 days. I insisted on speaking to the manager who then came to the phone. She identified herself as Ms Varsha and apologised on behalf of the agent who mislead me into buying the 5G product. Ms Varsha assured me that she will personally deal with this matter to expedite the process, to ensure i get my full refund.

I called MTN customer care on Wednesday morning the 13 November 2024, where, to my utter dismay, a customer service agent checked on the system and advised me that there was no refund instituted on my account and that I should have been given a REQ refund reference number. I expected the manager, Varsha, to furnish me with one which she, under the appropriate circumstances, should have done so.... but did not. The agent then had the audacity to advise that since the deal has not been cancelled yet, that I will still be held liable for additional debit order fees for a product which Ive had no benefit of using! Imagine the chutzpah!

I honestly dont know how a company so wrought with blatant irregularities could ever get away with such ********* business practices that equates to daylight *******. When I requested Rewards.Co to send me the details of the Ombudsman so that I can lodge a formal complaint, they rather sent me an general customer care email address which belongs to Mondo that will just let me run in circles. This sad spectacle is an affront to all people of worth and dignity.

Im going to have a field day in court with this company who are behaving like a bunch of skamming corporate *****sters.
