Unacceptable service from Revibe – still no refund

I bought an iPhone 12 Mini from Revibe. It worked for 1 month, then became faulty. It has been with them for over 2 months. It has been under “quality check” since 17 March. On 22 April, I was told it was still in the back office and could take up to 17 more days. However, the moment I requested a refund on that same day, it was suddenly booked for shipment. I am aware Revibe may refer to a 10-day policy, but my request for a refund is not based on a change of mind—it is due to the failure of the warranty process to resolve the matter within a reasonable time. We are already 5 months into the warranty, and I’ve only used the phone for 1 month. I am concerned that if it becomes faulty again, I will go through the same delays and spend more time without the device than using it. I no longer want a replacement—I want a full refund.

Hello Zandile,

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understand the frustration caused by the extended timeline.

Your experience is very important to us, and we acknowledge that the journey to resolve this has been longer than expected.

As the initial request was raised and processed under our warranty service, our technical team has focused on ensuring your device is fully functional and meets our quality standards. We are pleased to inform you that the warranty process is now complete, and your device has been shipped back to your address.

While we hear your concerns regarding a refund, our policy directs us to fulfill the warranty commitment for claims of this nature. Since the device is already on its way to you, we recommend accepting the delivery so you can finally enjoy your purchase.

We have taken extra care to ensure the device is in excellent working condition for you. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Best regards,
Revibe | Customer Experience Team

Thank you for your response.

However, this matter is not about a standard warranty repair. The device has been with you for over two months, which is an unreasonable delay.

My request for a refund is based on the failure of the warranty process to resolve the issue within a reasonable time, not a change of mind.

I do not accept a repaired or replacement device under these circumstances. I have escalated this matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) and will continue to pursue a full refund.

I would appreciate a resolution that aligns with consumer protection standards.
