Hidden Subscription After “Once-Off” CV Payment

I would strongly advise anyone considering using ResumeLeader to read all terms very carefully before entering their payment details.

My experience was extremely disappointing. I signed up because I was asked to pay R15 (about US$0.80) to download my CV. Based on the information presented to me, I understood this to be a once-off payment for a specific service. At no point did I knowingly agree to a recurring monthly subscription.

Only later did I discover that I had been charged R659.58 (about US$35) in connection with a membership that I was not aware I had signed up for. Had it been clearly communicated that providing my payment details for the R15 CV download would result in enrollment in a recurring subscription, I would never have proceeded.

What concerns me most is the lack of transparency. The R15 payment was clear and expected, but the ongoing membership was not made sufficiently clear during the process. As a result, I have had to spend time disputing charges and requesting a refund for a service I did not knowingly intend to purchase.

My advice to others is to carefully review every payment page, checkbox, and term before completing any transaction. What appeared to be a simple R15 CV download ultimately led to unexpected charges of R659.58 (about US$35).

I have requested a full refund and am awaiting a resolution. Until this matter is properly resolved, I cannot recommend this service.
