A complaint regarding Respublica - Westcity Student Accommodation
I am a tenant at the above mentioned student accommodation and i am currently not happy with how i have been treated by management.
We as students that resided at the accommodation were told to book a room for the following year which is current year we are within. I was called by one of Respublica's agents and booked into a sharing whereas i told them i wanted a single room but the agent said single rooms have been booked out and its only sharing left. I then agreed but something said no maan this cannot be true, so i went online and searched - to my surprise, there's still rooms available under single. I wrote an email stating my complaint and was given another call by another agent of theirs and the lady was convincing saying that she'll escalate the matter to her manager within her department and they would get back to me - bare in mind this was in 2019 and to date they never called me back.
So i decided, this January to rebook myself into a single, it accepted and was sent a promo invoice. The amount written did not correspond to the amount given to secure before i check in when i got to westcity the first time but because i needed a room i had to make means of getting it to secure the room. This was on the 16th of January and i was told only 2 single rooms where open which was level 1 of ET 108B and level 1 IQ (dont remember the exact room number). I asked for ground room at ET between 011, 09 or 07 but i was refused of that. I didn't pay but went back on Tuesday the 21st of January and pleaded with Management that i needed those rooms to accommodate my disability as i am an NSFAS paying student but because i cannot que due to it and my club foot - my plea was not considered but instead given ET 08B and because my concerns were not taken i decided to pay the R9600 because i need a room... I was not happy and still i am not happy but i got angry when the same day another student came with her parent to book and apparently she had R2000 with her and the initial amount was 2500 to secure a room but she was assisted and was given a room at PLW ground (i do not have the exact room number but it is a single) apparently the father finished off the payment the following day but she was booked in on the 21st and another one also said she's not happy with the room given and her Father was dealing with the situation and it was resolved as she has been moved... Then there's another one also, was booked at ET 108B but did not want that specific one and her Mother went to Westcity to demand a swap and HEYYYY SHE WAS ASSISTED AND MOVED.
Here i am, decide to go again today (24th of January) to understand why are they treated better as we all paid the same amount of R9600 and why their requests are dealt with but mine not.
I got there and met with Dalton and told him again that i am not happy as his also part of Management and requested to see Prince as his the manager of Westcity if i am not mistaken - i was made to wait till i decided to leave as i saw i was not gonna be attended to again.
My complaint is, should we bring our parents to be assisted fairly?
I am unable too as my parents cannot come to deal with such and believe i am able to handle it but i was unable too..
I WOULD CERTAINLY BE DELIGHTED TO BE ASSISTED DUE TO MU DISABILITY.
