Rentoza Failed to Notify Me of Subscription Term End – Continued Debits Without Disclosure

I entered into a fixed‑term subscription agreement with Rentoza for a device, which expired on 20 September 2025. At no point before or after the expiry of the term did Rentoza: Notify me that the fixed subscription term had ended Inform me that the agreement had automatically converted to a month‑to‑month (“evergreen”) arrangement Advise me that any continued subscription payments would not reduce or contribute toward the buyout price

Despite this lack of communication, Rentoza continued debiting my account for approximately three months after the term had ended. I only became aware that the fixed term had expired when I proactively contacted Rentoza to enquire about buying out the device. At that point, I was simply referred to their Terms and Conditions and told that:

Payments made after the term ended would not be credited toward the buyout price, and I remained liable for the full buyout amount, despite having continued to pay monthly

No explanation was provided as to why I was never notified, even though Rentoza has my contact details and had no issue continuing to debit my account. I believe this conduct is unfair and misleading. The expiry of a fixed‑term agreement and the financial consequences of inaction are material information that should be clearly communicated to customers. Rentoza benefits financially from silent continuation while placing the entire burden on the consumer, despite having full visibility of term expiry and control over billing.
