Bidvest bank refuses to help a single mother in need.

Money was ****** out of my account and the bank doesn't want to refund me as they say my card details was used and I authorised the debit. Do they really think that I would ***** money from myself??! I am a single mother and I am the only one looking after my family as I have a daughter of nine years of age and looking after my mother which was forced into retirement at age sixty. I lost my job in 2020 due to retrenchment because of Covid. I have been trying to keep head above water and making ends meet. I never authorise any payment without an OTP (One-Time-Pin) which I never received and the payment of R5000-00 I did a receive a notification that it was deducted from my bank account that day and only after I logged a claim the notification came through the next morning 00.30am which is very suspicious from my point of view. All I want is for the bank to refund me as I need to feed my family and keep a roof over our heads and for my daughter to go to school and get an education. I am pleading with the bank to have it in their hearts to see my situation as a single parent with the only income.

I got a response from the bank and received a form to complete and requesting to retract my complaint I was given the run around by the Quality Assurance Manager Rachel Grunstein. She asked me to complete the form and not assisting me with which section to complete. I then sent the form back as per her instruction. I then got several emails (more than 10) back from different people not knowing what is happening as they don't liaise with one another. I copied Rachel Grunstein in every email and she didn't even take the time to respond, she flat out ignored my emails. After sending the form to her on Tuesday 8 March 2022, I finally got a response and feedback from Feroda Smith-Karriem also a Quality Assurance Manager stating they won't refund me my R5000-00. I was under the impression when I was asked to retract the complaint they understood my situation and wanted to refund me my money as I need to buy food for my little daughter and mother so we could get buy for the month. I feel very mistreated by Bidvest Bank staff and it breaks my heart that they don't care and have no sympathy for a single mother trying to make ends meet in a period of where people are suffering around the world. I loved banking with Bidvest and never had any problems. it's really disappointing that they would do this to me.... all I want is my money that I worked so hard for to support my family....

After much effort and time Bidvest Bank is still refusing to refund me my money. I have R8 to my name and they just don't have any compassion for a struggling mother... I'm lost for words...
