account suspended because of foreign status

i opened a savings account with bidvest bank in mthatha in january 2015 and i activated by making a deposit the same day. in march 2015 i decided to check my balance at an atm n realised that the account has been blocked/suspended. i went to the office in mthatha to enquire and i was inforned that the account has been suspended by an officer in cape town by name candice on allegation that the temporary visa with which i opened the account was **********ly/*******ly obtained from home affairs. i submitted my passport and visa to the officer for verification to which he confirmed that the visa was correct in all respect. he phoned back candice to explain but he was adamant about and refused to activate the account because he believes that although the permit might be correct, i may have obtained it **********ly from an official from home affairs. my issues are : 1. does a financial institution not have a means to verify visas before accounts are opened? 2. Can the bank not call the home affairs(local/head office) in my presence to verify the authenticity of such visa?.
