Poor workmanship

Deluxe paint was used on my vehicle during panel beating and unauthorised work was carried out Renew it claimed things that had not been done on my vehicle for insurance payout and now their poor workmanship is surfacing and they do not have the decency to repair as per their warranty their slogan at Your service is A LIE should actually be Disaster service to you

Below is my complaint and theiron managers Ahmed Valley responding

Good evening

I write this in concern of my vehicle that was repaired at Renew It Sandton approximately 10 months ago.

To get to the point - my vehicle has recently hit a pothole and I have taken it to Mercedes Benz M2 City for repairs to the SRS light and the rims that are buckled and a few other complaints which one of them relates to the engine have a rough idle on very cold start up.

Upon contact regarding my car I have been notified that the gearbox mounting bracket has been welded, the engine has moved position and the paint work on my vehicle oversparayed.

The vehicle was at Renew It Sandton last year around this time after an accident we had. The repairs were done so poorly that the vehicle kept going back they claimed for things that they had not replaced on the vehicle for instance a new radiator that wasn't replaced and a new headlight but they used silicone or seal to cover the crack. When we brought this to their attention they admitted and fixed the light and nothing if the radiator.
The vehicle went back about 4 times for them to rectify their poor workmanship.

On Monday the 16 October 2016 I spoke to Peter regarding my concerns and what has been brought to my attention, he willingly sent a driver to collect my vehicle so they could check. The feedback I recieved was that they could never do such work on a vehicle that was under warranty but yet they could patch the headlight that really raises concerns.

My husband was supposed to go and meet with Renew it but after discussion we agreed that we had enough of the arguments and they should just fix the PDC which I complained about even last year and the bumper which is cracking from the poor paint work they did on the vehicle. I sent Peter and email regarding this and I received a reply from Ahmed who I assume is the manager there who says they will not entertain such and I should collect my vehicle.

According to my understanding Renew it has a life time warranty on their work or paintwork but yet they don't want to fix the work on my car and now find it necessarily that in the state of my vehicle currently they will not touch it.
Renew It the so called authorised Mercedes Benz repairers are the only ones who have done work on my vehicle and not 10 months later they now see what a poor job they did to my car they will not touch it anymore? Ahmed suggest I should get my insurance involved, is this to squeeze more money out of my insurer?

Ahmed then blatantly tells me to collect my vehicle while they are the ones who offered to fetch it from me then in my opinion they should bring it back because I never asked them to fetch it?
Further more as per what his emails suggest they will not be attending to the cracking bumper and the PDC that's got excessive paint, because of they vehicles current state, hitting a pothole has nothing to do with the body of the car or the paint work on the vehicle.

Please note I do not want any freebies from any one and my insurance paid them over 300k for a slap dash job like this which they warranted but now cannot rectify.

It is with disgust that us as consumers get treated in this way in South Africa. If an business is not making any money from you or they gave banked your money they find it no way to assist instead find excuses to get away from their responsibilities.

My vehicle still stands at Renew It Sandton and I expect them to take responsibility of the paint work on the PDC to be rectified and the bumper which is cracking never mind the over spray over the complete vehicle. Their life time warranty this is their oath to the public that they use to attract us knowing that they uphold none of that.
The other work which they denying to have performed on my vehicle is will take else where to a authorised panel beater that appreciated it's clients and business we bring to have them repaired.

I seek your intervention in this matter as a consumer as I feel I have been taken for a roller coaster ride with the repair of this vehicle and now no body wants to take responsibility.

I have forwarded this email with recent communication between Renew It and myself

I await your feedback
Regards
Sithembiso Masango
**********

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: "Ahmed Vally" ********** />Date: 18 Oct 2016 19:50
Subject: Re: DB48WFGP
To: "Thembi Masango" ********** />Cc: "Peter Wojciechowicz" ********** "Mary-Jane Martin" **********
Thembi

I disagree totally .

I would suggest you involve Your insurance as we cannot touch your car at its current state .

Sent from my iPhone

On 18 Oct 2016, at 7:35 PM, Thembi Masango ********** wrote:

Ahmed

From day 1 you were very arrogant and showed no sense of customer service, the way you portray the companies image is that attitude that says take it or leave it.

That car has not been worked on anywhere but at your workshop!

I expect the poor paint job done to my vehicle be rectified! If you refer back to my emails I complained about the PDC the many times I brought my vehicle back and the bumper is a below standard job done by yourselves.

I have nothing to gain if I know my car has been worked on else where by suggesting it is by you who have done such, I will absorb the cost of the welded mounting and other work not completed correctly the first time.

There's no request to entertain...rectify your mistakes and bring it back where you collected it from(I am not the one who asked you to collect it you offered when I called to enquire of what you did to my car)

On 18 Oct 2016 19:22, "Ahmed Vally" ********** wrote:
Hi Thembi ,

All issues were resolved 10 months ago .

We cannot entertain any request you might have as your vehicle has been worked on after we repaired your vehicle .

You are welcome to collect your vehicle tomorrow morning .

Regards

Sent from my iPhone

On 18 Oct 2016, at 7:04 PM, Thembi Masango ********** wrote:

Hi Peter

After discussion with my husband we have come to a decision that we want nothing further to do with Renew It Sandton. Knowingly it will be arguments of we did this and didn't do that. We had enough of that during the repair.

The service we recieved from repair to date is up to 0,00% it reflects nothing of your standards. The workmanship carried out on my vehicle is poorer than poorest and it saddens me that you deliver such service with pride. None the less I do not want to accuse you or your business of its loyalty and repair standards that you uphold, you all know what really happens behind those doors.

As per your so called warranty on the repairs carried out, please attend to the right rear bumper where the paint is cracking off and on the right front bumper the PDC is malfunctioning because of the excessive paint that is on it. Referance to the invoice you guys did work on these areas.

I will then take my car elsewhere to another authorised Mercedes Benz Panel beater and hopefully I will recieve better service and my business will be valued there.

Please advise me when my vehicle will be done and taken back to Mercedes Benz M2 City?

Regards
Sithembiso Masango
**********

On 18 Oct 2016 18:10, "Peter Wojciechowicz" ********** wrote:
Good evening Sithembiso,

I have not yet heard from you as to when your husband will be coming through to meet with us regarding your car.

Please will you confirm when he will be coming.

Regards,

Peter

From: Peter Wojciechowicz
Sent: Monday, 17 October 2016 1:55 PM
To: 'Thembi Masango' ********** Ahmed Vally ********** />Cc: Mary-Jane Martin ********** />Subject: RE: DB48WFGP

Good afternoon Sithembiso,

Your email is noted and as discussed, we will meet with your husband tomorrow to go through the issue that you have raised. I will also be including the assessor who initially assessed your vehicle as well as Ahmed.

I would also like to confirm that as per our discussion, there is significant new damage (unrelated to the initial incident) to the front undercarriage of your vehicle and in particular (but not withstanding any other unseen damage) the left front control arm, left front inner rim, front lower bumper, splash tray, significant fluid/grease discharge around the right front rim (the inside of the rim is caked with grease). These are some of the new points of impact that we have picked up on the vehicle and these could quite easily lead to the engine mounts being loosened and potentially other damage to the vehicle.

We will go through the car in detail with your husband and the assessor tomorrow. Please will you confirm what time is suitable for your husband to be here.

Regards,

Peter

From: Thembi Masango **********
Sent: Monday, 17 October 2016 12:46 PM
To: Peter Wojciechowicz ********** />Cc: ********** />Subject: DB48WFGP

Good day

With referance to my vehicle DB48WFGP which had extensive repairs done at Renew It Sandton last year around this time.

Today my car is in at Mercedes Benz M2 City for repairs to the SRS light on the oil leak from the right front and a noise/vibration on first acceleration when the vehicle is cold and the PDC going off randomly.

To my horror what was discovered is beyond what words can describe.

1-The gearbox mounting bracket has has been welded see pictures attached.
2- The engine is not sitting straight seems as if the bolts have been loosened for what ever reason, I don't know. Now the engine needs to moved and the engine mounting fitted correctly at who's cost?
3- The PDC is malfunctioning because if too much paint on the sensor which if you referr back I had complained about this when my car kept returning to you guys
4-Front steel piece of the frame is bent which I gather should of been repaired/replaced when the vehicle was there as to me it was part of the impact from the accident.
5-The rear bumper on the right the paint is cracking now this is just poor workmanship
6-The sunroof which I complained about after the repairs is still not right

To my shock and disappointment it was pointed out to me what a poor job has been done on my vehicle the overspraying and the poor workmanship carried out on this car.

Having done work that is not authorised by Mercedes Benz could lead to my my maintainance plan to being void.

The vehicle returned to you many times for things that had not been fixed first time right and 1 year later I'm still sitting with problems.

This is not acceptable and according to me if you were unable to carry out the repairs and have the vehicle back to standard then my insurance should of been notified of such and other decisions be made.

To conclude I await your feedback

Regards
Sithembiso Masango

Good day Lommie

Please see below my email sent to Renew It Sandton regarding my vehicle.

It's at utmost concern that clients and our vehicles are treated so abruptly.

My vehicle has never been the same since repaired by Renew It considering the fact that it was returned umpteenth times.

Now the paint is also cracking and the PDC is not functioning properly because of excessive spraying, despite the other stuff they are denying and claiming I have had the vehicle repaired else where YOU DON'T don't even want to repair the sloppy job done on my vehicle?

Now that it has been about 10 months that the report was done they are now able to claim that my vehicle is in a STATE? Meanwhile they are the ones who caused that state to my car with poor workmanship on the body?

I await your prompt feedback?

Regards
Sithembiso Masango
**********

Show quoted text
