Wrong Oil filled on my car. Who did it?

For the past couple of days I had a cranking noice coming from my Mitsubishi ASX and i visited CMH Mitsubishi Westrand for an assessment to be done in order to establish what the issue might be. I received report that part of the reason for the noise is due to an incorrect gearbox oil filled in my car. In March 2019 i took my car in for it's 120k service at Mitsubishi Princess Crossing, which is the dealership i bought the car from and they had been doing my services and for that specific service the invoice shows a Gearbox Oil charge. Sadly in April I was involved in an accident and my Insurance Auto & General approved for my vehicle to be repaired by their affiliate Renew It Greenstone. Part of the repairs done on the vehicle include the gear box (oil was filled)

Now that an incorrect oil has been found on my car, neither Mitsubishi nor Renew It is taking account of the oil. I am required to pay roughly R5000 to have the oil flushed. How is this something i should be liable for when I am not personally responsible for replacing oils on my car? An email has been sent to Morgan at Renew It on Friday for assistance and to this hour i have not received a response.

This is extremely frustrating and I need this resolved asap. Incompetency and negligence needs to be dealt with. Any damages caused on the car as a result of this will most definitely be accounted for.

My next door to knock on will be the ombudsman if this issues isn't resolved.

Thank you for your response

Please see below response from Mitsubishi Westrand manager Mark

Please allow me this opportunity to address your concern below.
All dealerships have oil supp**** from different manufacturers. Parts number can differ from one company to the next. The parts number supp**** to you by Bongani is the part number from Mitsubishi South Africa.
Unfortunately the Dealership at Princess Crossing has closed down and we can not obtain record from them as the whom their oil suppliers was at the time of your vehicle being services.

So you're saying you've contacted with the branch that's supposedly "closed down" that Mark made sound like it's impossible to retrieve any records?

But will await your update. Thank you

Pardon the above comment. That response was from Mitsubishi not Renew-It. Disregard.

Mistubishi had this to say as i also needed them to explain what oil was used prior on their side prior to repairs.

"What we can refer to is that the fact that currently the vehicle has the incorrect grade or specification of oil in the gearbox. As pe the history the last people to work on the gearbox and replace the oil was Renew it. We would refer you back to them to inquire what oil was used by them at the time of the repair. They should have specifications of what oil was used as CVT oil is a unique oil and currently the vehicle has normal Auto Transmission Oil in the gearbox."

Therefore, this leaves Renew-It responsible as the last people to deal with the car
