RUN AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN
In the midst of all the bad weather and the possible business that they may get , I thought I could just give you guys a warning in advance.
I met in an accident at the end of June, where the other party failed to stop at a stop street and knocked into me. It was my first accident ever, and the first accident on my Ford, where my car was taken into greenstone, if not; it was advised that I would lose my warranty with Ford. May I just add that it was a small accident, where a small portion of the left passenger seat door was dented. That is all.
We had an arrangement that if I paid half of the deposit (My deposit being R8000 in total) the week before my car had to go in; the parts would get delivered and would cut down my repair time to less than 2 weeks. I paid the deposit, the parts were delivered and my car was booked in the next week. May I just add in that all they had to order was some sticker for the door.
My car then took 3 days to begin the process, which added extra time onto the whole process, the 2 weeks then ended up being 3 weeks. I could not afford for the car to take longer than 2 weeks, I had made arrangements to go to PMB as I did not have car hire available to me, after the added on days, I had to Uber around for a week.
I just want to mention that I called numerous times daily in order to speak to the lady who was in-charge of my car, to which she was never available, and if she was and after hearing my concerns, she always promised to call me back to update me and to this day, she didn’t keep her promises and I NEVER did receive any update calls from her! Empty promises once again.
When I was called to pick up my car 3 weeks later (21/07/2017), specifically at 3pm (to which I was there earlier than necessary), at 4:30 I was still waiting for my car to be given back to me. When I received my car at 4:45, there were new marks on my car that wasn't there before, the paint work was terrible and had over-runs all over my car( paint drips from an over-spray) There was paint all over my windows, tyres and the seals from the windows. There were paint finger-prints all over the car. The repair work was not done properly and the joins to the car were noticeable. They agreed to fix all these abovementioned issues (as well as others), the following week when they could get me a courtesy car) and return it ASAP. ( the manager himself mentioned how embarrassed he was of the car work .) I was then allowed to take my car home and bring it back Friday as per arrangements. On the way home, I tried to get onto the left lane, and almost met in an accident. The WHOLE CLUSTER OF LIGHTS AT THE BACK LEFT WASN'T WORKING. So the person on the other lane didn't know I wanted to change lanes. How could my car be given back to me in such a condition when they clearly told me that it was going through checks and quality control??
Ryan, who is the manager( so he said to me numerous times) , over promises and under delivers. He made an arrangement to get the courtesy car on Friday afternoon (28/07/17). He had promised to call me early Friday morning to arrange for me to pick up the car, and at 3pm, there was no call. Regardless, I knew we had a deal so I went to drop off my car at 3pm, and ended up waiting until 5 pm for a car that he didn't have. At 5 pm he sees me sitting there and only at that point, he decides to call to find out where the car is (when I’ve been waiting for 2 hours), the car was not coming.
Eventually I went back home, with my Ford as he couldn't get me a car as promised, and had to go back the next day to pick up the car (29/07/17). All this time please note that I had to close my practice in order to meet his working times.
We finally swapped the cars on that Saturday, after waiting an hour and a half. We were not informed of the updates and what was going on with the car. Eventually, on the Tuesday (08/08/17) we were told that we can come in on the Thursday (10/08/17), and that the car will be ready early Thursday morning.
THURSDAY morning I called early as to find out what time to pick up my car, as I NEEDED the times in order to I had to rebook patients, the lady told me that my car was ready; however, Ryan would call me in TWO MINUTES. Three hours later, I had not gotten a call from Ryan so since I had rebooked my patients for an hour at 4:30 ; I went to pick up my car. An hour later whilst waiting at Greenstone, Ryan showed up to tell me that my car was not ready. He had called in a third party without my consent to check the car. Apparently he was happy with how my repairs were done, however the setting of the back lights were not done properly so I had to come in Friday the latest, as the repairs were underway and that it would only take “45 minutes”. It was apparently “an easy job.” They also mentioned that they damaged my wheel cap by mistake but they offered to replace it.
Friday we had received no calls, Saturday no calls either to inform me about what’s going on. We had gotten a call on the 16th/08/17, ( 6 days later after being promised it the next day) stating that my car is definitely ready to get picked up. HOWEVER, low and behold when we get there after waiting an hour and a half for any sort of service… the car’s paint job was not done properly. There were more over-runs; it seemed to me as if there were tiny spots all over the back side door. Renew it tried to polish it out which they did not succeed. They then told me that they sprayed the wrong part (the higher part of the door that did not go through any damage. The car was then taken back and promised that it will be ready the next day, with my car being priority.
Yes, the car was NOT ready the next day, eventually, we were called in on Friday ( 18/08/17) stating the car is ready. When we went there, after waiting 45 minutes, the back bumper seemed like it was falling off (with a gap between the light and the bumper). There were paint over-runs again on the petrol tank flap, new scratches on the bumper, new marks on the window, the left back lights was sticking out more than the other side. And the car went in once again, promising It would be done first thing on Saturday, and they would call us early in the morning as our car would be priority and alas, nothing ever happened
Eventually, really tired of everything, they gave me a call, telling me that my car was ready and the outsurance inspectors were happy. Luckily for me , my car was being audited by Outsurance, and when the auditor had a look, he was still not happy as the paint was starting to peel amongst other issues.
Global autobody was my saving grace to be honest, they treated me with nothing but respect and courtesy. They also informed me that while my car was sitting at Renew-it Greenstone, it must have been hit at the back and that's why my bumper was falling off in the beginning. The side that was hit, still had dents in it. There was overspray of paint ALL OVER MY CAR( including the seats, rims etc.) , and not to mention, I paid my deposit to Greenstone as they needed to order parts upfront ( being the small sticker by the foot of the door and alas, that sticker WAS NOT EVEN PUT ON) but long story short, Global Autobody fixed it with a great attitude, how refreshing.
I'm writing this complaint not because I want anything or any sort of communication from Renew it, but because I think everyone needs to know to go elsewhere! Run as fast as you can if you don't have time, money and energy to waste and because I wish someone did this for me when I was making my decision.
