Unacceptable Service from Renew‑it Bedfordview
I took my car to Renew‑it Bedfordview on 12 January 2026 for repairs to a damaged left-hand side mirror, which made the car unsafe and effectively unroadworthy. During inspection, hail damage was also identified and subsequently approved by my insurer, meaning Renew‑it had two authorised claims to complete.
On Saturday, 07 February, I received a call at 11h27 (duration was 1 min, 55 seconds) from Renew‑it ***) - this can be verified since all calls are recorded for quality purposes. I was told my car was fixed, and that they were only waiting for a mirror cap. Based on this, I agreed to collect the car on Monday, 09 February, assuming the mirror itself, the critical safety component. had been repaired. I even went ahead and paid both excesses.
To my shock, when the car was delivered by Renew-it to Lexus Fourways for inspection, 0% of the mirror repair had been done. Not even the glass was replaced. In addition, the car had new paint blemishes that were not present when I dropped it off. This was later confirmed by comparing the drop-off photos with Renew-it consultant, Prisca.
When I confronted Renew‑it on the same day i.e. 09 February 2026, the consultant admitted that I had been given incorrect information during the call. Despite promising feedback and next steps, I received no updates on 10 February, nor any communication today. The lack of accountability is extremely unprofessional.
My main concerns:
1) I paid an excess of R10 700 for repairs that were never done. This must be refunded immediately.
2) The vehicle is still unroadworthy, and I should not be expected to drive it. Renew‑it must collect it from Lexus Fourways and return it to the workshop.
3) New paint blemishes were caused while the car was in their care and must be corrected.
I am extremely disappointed with the service, communication, and quality control at Renew‑it Bedfordview. This experience has caused huge inconvenience, unnecessary costs, and serious safety concerns.

At the very least, one would expect that even basic leadership theory/ practice would recognise the need for a direct and personal response, given that the issues I experienced clearly point to a failure at some level within the organisation.
Today, at 12h18, I received a WhatsApp call from the same Renew‑it Bedfordview consultant. She briefly stated that I must return the vehicle to the workshop and that my excess/ deductible refund would then be processed. The call was brief, cold and transactional at best, with no acknowledgement of the other issues I raised, and no explanation for the failure to revert as promised on 10 February. Instead, her message simply added to the ongoing inconvenience I have already had to endure. A written response on how this matter will be resolved would be appreciated.
At the bare minimum, please provide another consultant to handle the repair process and a clear way forward on how this matter will be handled going forward.
