Standing vehicle

My wife's car was taken to Renew-it Bedfordview after an accident end of January.

I did not have insurance at the time so everything would have been done cash.

Firts verbal quote to repair the car was R76k odd and I accepted this as it was " affordable".

I received a written quotation a couple days later for the amount of R124k and required 70% deposit which was just over R86k. I paid R80k as the consultant said it should be fine only to get an email saying management is looking for the whole 80% and the balance was paid immediately.

They started to work on the wark as lock down started so expected it to be a timely experience.

We moved to level 4 and calls and emails came in on the progress and the "other expenses" that was only picked up during the various processes.

This all came to a staggering R180 000. Cash.

Ok so on the day of collecting the left front fender wasn't aligned at all with the front bumper still scratched and the driver mirror broken.

The fender was quickly aligned and another quote given to respray the bumper.

Blah blah blah and yadi yadi ya get back home with no issues at all, stopped and got out and noticed that the light sensor on the dash is missing. Right, call them and they investigate tobsee if it was there when the vehicle was delivered to them. All fair.

Two days after getting the vehicle back and it starts cutting out. Quickly found the problem, the plug on the fuel pump. So write an email saying that they should have a look when the car goes in for the sensor as the fuel pump was replaced with a new one during assembly.

The car didn't cut out for some time so they just fitted the sensor and of we go.

The car started cutting out again and send an email to arrange for it to go in...

Waited for a week to get an answer and on the day the car was supposed to go back.... Battery dead, like dead, and this was also replaced during assembly. I asked for discount on the final amount and was said, we bought a new battery for your car and and and. So a brand new battery, that has 2018 engraved on it, dood soos n mossie.

Emailed again yesterday to find out what is going to happen to the car and still waiting.

This car is standing. Spending double the amount of petrol as we only have one other vehicle to our disposal.

Just want to have the car driving again, as it should and put this story behind me
