Our so painful experience with Renew-It Bedfordview.
We were treated very ugly, disrespected by Renew-It Bedfordview. Our car was involved in an accident beginning of April 2022. We requested Renew-It to quote us which they requested to have the car by their workshop, by the way, even though there were some damages on the car, it could still drive with no problems at all. Renew-It then towed the car from where it was to their workshop on the 20th of May. Since we were going to pay cash, we were so clear that we needed to see the quotation first in case we would not afford. From the 20th of May we waited for 2weeks plus calling almost every day to get a quote, it only came on the 7th of June. The quote was far more expensive than buying a same year model car. We immediately communicated that we definitely can't afford it and requested to get our car back. The guy said they will deliver the car back to us, we waited again and calling for action and he kept promising someone was going to contact us soon, some lady then requested for our physical address and we were so happy that they were delivering the vehicle but nothing was done. To our surprise, around the 14th of June late in the afternoon we received an invoice or around R6000+ said to be for storage which was a shock to us considering all the delays were on Renew-It side. We went to renew-It the next day to try and understand what was going on. We then saw the Supervisor, we narated our story to her, she then said to us if we are to take the car from them we would still be liable to pay the invoice amount, she suggested another option to us and said if you are to take that option then the storage fee would be s****ped. Because we were not in a position to pay the storage amount and also we were told if we were to take the car we would get it in pieces as it was opened for assessment which also did not make sense to us. We felt the both options were not fair but because they were at an advantage since our car was in their possession we ended up taking the new option. The option was that we buy parts and we agreed on an amount for labour. We were given a list of parts that were required to get the car out, we started sourcing for parts, it was not easy but we had to do it nonetheless. I personally would go to renew-It to deliver parts almost every single day to an extend that even the security ended up knowing me. I CLEARLY told the guy that I was introduced to as the person who will be working on my car that l NEED the old parts back nomatter how damaged, w needed our old parts and l was promised that the parts were kept in a some bucket and can only collect everything when lm collecting the car. In the process I had different people calling me to buy parts which l found very suspicious considering the size of the organisation. At some point we felt we were not going to get that car back with the way things were done. On the 14th of October we were then told the car was ready for collection. We went to collect, the first thing we noticed as we started the car was a warning light on the dashboard, we requested that its fixed/cleared and we were told the headlight that the left side headlight module was not working, this was only said after we had asked why there was a light. By the way the car was from QC, according to my understanding about the QC, all that should have been picked up at QC but that was not done. We then requested for our old parts, there was only 1 right headlight and 2 small brackets in the boot, the rest of the parts were not there. We then asked the lady who was assigned as a service consultant and honestly she was not much involved in the whole process, she did then called the guy l personally told that l needed the parts asking where the old parts were, and he were responded saying they were discarded, shocking again. The lady then called Stephanie who was nothing but so disrespectful to us. Instead of hearing us, she came accusing us of not telling the management which we were never introduced to and told us that our parts were dirty so they called the cleaning company to clean up all that dirty, That woman is so rude and she did not even select her words and to her that was that and she walked out. As we were waiting to settle the outstanding bill, the same Stephanie for some reasons tried to add more money on to the invoice not knowing the other lady had already printed the invoice then when asked why was there a change of amounts in the system she then came up with some strange explanation that there was a mirror that Renew-It replaced. The mirror issue never existed, that amount was removed, we paid and left with a car with that warning light on. less than 3km away another light popped up, l called to inform of the new light and l said l am making a U-turn. I came back and the car was taken in, l waited for more than an hour then was told a completely different/new explanation that the module did not have a problem and that the headlight we bought was not working properly, the LED lights on that headlight were burnt but l can still use the car like that it would not affect anything. I really didn't take that explanation, l called the guy who sold the headlight to me, luckily he was very nice, he said l should bring the car to him. I went the following day, guess what!! The original modules that were in my car when l took in my car were removed and replaced by old damaged ones. The guy showed me, he tested and the LED's were working with the new modules that he tested them with, I ended up paying for new modules. At some point I was told to buy 6 adjusters yet only 2 were needed, a radiator cover was sold to me which l still think it was mine. We spent more than R80 000 for parts and labour not even talking about the inconvenience and all the up and down costs. We were really mistreated with such a big and known organisation that we thought we would trust, the rudeness and disrespectful not only on clients but as human beings there are things that we cannot do to each other even if you are covering up for one another. I am still hurting from the so painful experience I had to go through with Renew-It Bedfordview.
