'Where is my car' we don't care! Total breakdown
I took in my car after it was the petrol was leaking , and I was told they will have to book it in. I was called by the service adviser on the same day, Natasha who said the car’s fuel pump had ‘fused up’ and they had to order the part from Joburg. The quotation was just over R8 000 – and it would take about a week to fix the car. Natasha could not explain to me what she meant by ‘the pump is fused up’ – she did not know what she was talking about.
In a week and a half, no one had called me to tell me about the progress on the part that was supposedly ordered for my car despite many efforts on my part to contact Natasha. At one stage no one knew where my car was and I was asked if I had left if at Paarden Eiland. I eventually decided to fetch my car after I tried for a whole morning to get hold of Natasha. I got there and asked for my car keys – I found that the car part had not been ordered. Natasha refused for me to see the manager and turned her back on me when I tried to speak to the manager Tezlyn.
Tezlyn and the mechanic explained that the previous place (Renault Germiston) that had fixed the same part that Paarden Eiland said was the problem did not fit it properly and that is why the petrol was leaking. Tezlyn asked me to send her a slip for the part I had fitted at Renault Germiston and if it was still within a year she could try to get Germiston to fix it at their cost. This part is a seal for the petrol tank and it cost me R 1 100 to replace and fit it – my question is why was I quoted R8 000 for the same part at Paarden Eiland? Tezlyn asked to be reminded to deal with the matter, I sent her a message to remind her – I have never heard from her or Natasha again. I am utterly shocked by the lack of service and the lack of communication from these people.
