Warranty policy failure

My 3yr old Duster under warranty lost power and two warning lights appeared. After 2 full days at Renault Gateway the turbo was diagnosed as needing replacement. I was told it would be ordered, I could use the car meanwhile, and it would be a 1 day job to replace the next week. All good so far.

By Monday the story had changed.

Now as per Renault policy, I would have to take the car in and leave it for 2 weeks, without a courtesy vehicle, while they send the turbo to JHB, assess it, and decide whether to replace it with a reconditioned unit or a new one. I contacted customer care and the service manager and got the same story from everyone. After a week of to-and-fro over this the service manager told me it would "most likely" be replaced with a new one and it would "probably" not be anywhere near two weeks.

After 21 consecutive days at Renault I eventually got the vehicle back, and after driving less than 20 metres it was obvious it was faulty. The engine was shaking, there was a metallic rattling, and bad vibration in the pedals. I have given it back to them and told them to keep it. Lovely vehicle, I have been singing its praises for 3 years. Now I can never buy Renault again. I have deep regrets about the family and friends who have bought Renault over the last few years. I bought a new Sandero for my wife just 6 months ago. Makes me feel sick.
