Warranty claim decline

Renault does not entertain claims when it comes to large amounts. My car overheated on the 11th of july 2016. It was towed to renault in alberton for a diagnosis. They aske me to pay R720 to startstripping. The had found that the thermostat had jammed which caused the overheating. They had tild me that if the warranty covers it cover the labour cost. They contacted me and told me that renault sa had declined the claim beacuse a dump valve was fitted to the vehicle. The dump valve for 1 does not have anything to do wih the engine and 2 i had this fitted to the vehicle by big boss auto as i was told by renault the glen that big boss does renault motorsport and they are an acrredited workshop. This is my 4th renault i have owned and will be my last. I had the vehicle towed to a rmi accreditied renault specialist and will await his damage report on the cause. I will then proceed to the motor industry ombudsman to see if this was a fair decline of the claim. I am also in the motor industry and also handle claims. Even after declining a product failure. As a goodwill we compensate whatever parts we can get from ourside to keep our customers happy. I am really not impressed with renault after liking this make for so many years. The vehicle is just over 3 years old and for this to happen. I asked the service advisor what caused the thermostat to jam and her reply from the technician was that this things happen. I dont believe so on a fairly new car with about 95000km on the clock.
