Stranded for 6-8 weeks without a car, no parts available for a Renault.

How does a car dealership tells you that for 6-8 weeks you will be without a car as they do not have an alternator in the entire SA> Dealing with car dealerships can be challenging, especially when it feels like they’re not considering the practical issues of being without a car for an extended period.

It’s concerning that my relatively new car (13,000 km and 2 years old) is having such issues, especially a few days after a service. The long wait time for a part, particularly if it’s being shipped from overseas is totally unacceptable. They will only consider getting me a hired car if we wait longer then 7 days for the part, so for the next few days I need to make my problem someone else to assist in car pooling my son to and from school and activities. They also cannot take a part from a car standing on the floor so that I can be mobile, no extra mile for service. Service is lacking badly in SA
