Sickening service
I have just recently bought a Renault Kwid Dynamic 1.0 from the Renault at the Glen branch in Johannesburg to which my finance is with Wesbank . I had picked up my vehicle on the 8th of June 2018 and within a week I already started having issues with this vehicle . It started with the brakes where it was just screeching and grinding at every stop – I had then advise the sales consultant to which he rep**** this is normal and it will go away. Eventually this started getting worse and so I took it to Renault Wood mead which is the closest branch to where I work. The service guy had just washed the brakes and advised it will go away – the very day it started screeching again and so I re booked it again with them but by this time another fault had occurred – a flashing warning light every day would come on and within 1 km after this light comes on the vehicle would just switch off in the middle of the highway. After reading the manual it advised something to do with the keys , after 10 min the car would start up again only with the spare key. I immediately logged this again with the Wood mead branch and had left my vehicle a whole day with them. When I received my vehicle back I was told that my braked had been skimmed and the warning sign was checked via a computer and I should no longer have this issue. To my surprise the very next day the light was back on and the car had switched off again in the middle of the highway late at night leaving me distraught as a female travelling alone. I then took my vehicle the very next day to Renault at the Glen where my vehicle was purchased, the service was horrible as the lady who assisted just told me that the breaks is normal and they are aware of this problem and it will go away and then she said that they will have to keep the car to check the vehicle. I said ok and asked if they could drop me off at work but she advised that they only work with a 10km radius and they could not do this for me since I work in Kyalami. I told her that my husband will bring it back the next day very early and she advised that they should be done with the vehicle by 9am. When my husband took it back they said that he has to leave the vehicle the whole day and they also could not drop him off at work. This was rather infuriating as we were trying our best to get this car in working order since its only 2 months old. I then called the Manager of the branch who is Trevor and advised him of my issues with the vehicle – his response was to drop off the vehicle at the branch on Saturday the 21/07 – he will try to “fix” it for me. As for the brakes issue, there’s nothing they can do about the screeching and grinding. . With many miscommunications happening he decided to take my vehicle back which was from the 21st of July till the 30th of July 2018 – he tried to assist me with another deal with another vehicle but this did not work out as I was losing a lot of money on this vehicle for having it for just a month . I declined the deal and decided to keep my existing vehicle. On Monday the 30th of July 2018 the dealership had contacted my husband and asked him to bring the car in because they have the part available – my husband did advise that the vehicle is with them already. The car was then returned to me that Monday afternoon. Since then I have still been having brake issues and this morning my vehicle had cut off again on the highway – I had taken a video and sent it to Trevor – He did not even bother to contact me until I sent him the email attached – to which his response was that the part was not changed. Soon after this another email from the service manager Jerome stating that the part was changed. I have requested Job Cards numerous times and they keep saying they will send this and they don’t. I then took this matter up with Wesbank who is my finance House – the consult is Clara Harvie who is the service resolution consultant – she had taken my complaint and pictures sent as proof of the warning light to the dealership and gave them 2 weeks to respond. They had responded saying that they done tests on the vehicle and had advised us to come in when doing the tests. This could not be possible due to the number of days I had taken leave regarding this useless vehicle – they have stated that the outcome of this test has come back showing no faults. Wesbank has now requested that I do my own Diagnostics and come with proof that the vehicle has a fault . I have all emailed correspondence to and from the dealerships and to and from Wesbank , I also have videos and pictures with proof .
I am now sitting with 9125km on the mileage and to this day referring to the last fault that happened on Friday the 7th of September 2018 where my car had switched off again on the highway. This fault has not been rectified and the dealership and bank refuses to assist any other way.
