Shocking service - Renault Clio sport Engine Blown

My Son bought a Renault Clio Sport from Renault Boksburg in 2013. At the time of purchase he was sold an extended warranty by Renault that expired end of Feb 2014.
On the 07th of February, the engine blew (for the second time in an 8 month period).
This time due to a belt snapping and causing the engine to blow according to Renault. I do not believe this in any way as they have spent an entire month , clearly trying to dispute this claim.
No feedback, plenty of excuses, stalling for time, and now they deny the claim! The car has only done 88000 km's and essentially Renault have denied the claim as they say it is due to \normal wear and tear"!!. In other words they are saying that the 2007 Clio 2 litre's engine will blow at some stage no matter what! What are the stats on this model's engine blowing and twice on this one. I have asked the question and would like an honest reply. It now turns out that during this period Renault negligently omitted to notify SA Warranty of the claim pending"
