Sale First, Truth Later

I recently purchased a Renault Sandero at Mcarthy Renault in Pietermaritzburg, only to encounter issues subsequently. The air conditioner did not keep a regular temperature and did had poor output. The clutch felt tough and so did the steering. I had taken the car back to Renault, only to be told that the thermostat needed repairs and the clutch cables needed to be realigned.

The power output of the air con was still poor and on receipt of my car from the second visit I was informed that the air con was not an original Renault air con but an after sales air con.

This was shocking. The manager had informed me that the reason I received a huge discount was due the after sales air con while the salesman had said that the discount is due to the year end clearance of the excess stock. Further I was taken on a test drive in a Renault Sandero that had a factory fitted Renault air con which was impressive. Somebody had missed ethics class.

Moral of the story - I would not buy a Renault ever again and would never support Mcarthy Renault in Pietermaritzburg.
