Renault Sandero - Design and Service Faults

A dash light in our Renault Sandero came on (looks like a heart beat line). The manual states that if the light is amber to "drive carefully to an authorised dealer as soon as possible ...". If "red then stop the car immediately". This light is small and obscure.

I had to look to page 60 of the manual to find what it meant. Either this is important information or the manual is overstating the importance of the light.

Following the manufacturer's instructions, I called Automall, East London to arrange taking the car in. They offered me a spot a week later but the service department representative said it would "probably be ok to drive the car". This business clearly does not allow for emergency maintenance, the person is clearly not trained correctly and Renault clearly do not manage their service network or train them in the importance of warning lights.

It appears that all the light was doing was indicating that the 12 monthly service was overdue. This is poor dash board design, poor manual design and poor communication.

On the plus side, Renault Service in King Williams Town is brilliant
