Renault SA - Guarantee repair disaster.
Being a fan of the brand makes it very difficult to write this review, however, I believe the buying public out there deserve to know the facts. I took my 8 month old Duster 1.5 DCI EDC in for an oil leak on 20 June 2018. I got it back at 6.00 pm on 21 September 2018, three months and one day later. No amount of complaining, questioning to the highest level I could reach made any difference. Yes the vehicle was under guarantee, yes they rented me a base model rental in which I did in excess of 10 000 km, as I travel for a living. To add insult to injury, the rental picked up a stone or something at some time, this left a crack in the screen, Renault rented without windscreen cover, and I had to pay the rental company R 5092.00 to replace the windscreen. If you buy a Renault you get a good value for money vehicle, however, if something goes wrong you may have a long wait, and, if you are given a rental, be sure to read the contract, or you could be in my position, pay your own car payment and insurance, and contribute thoudands that you cannot afford to the upkeep of a rental companies fleet. For me, never again, I took my Renault and traded it in for another European brand that appear to have a better track record. As I was never given an explanation by Renault SA when I asked over and over, I seriously doubt if they will react to this review, so may it be, but at least those reading reviews prior to purchasing can be forewarned.
