Renault Kwid - Pleasantly surprised

I purchased a new Renault Kwid in September 2018. I knew I was going to be driving a lot and wanted to do it as cheap as possible.

The car initially felt very unstable, I clutch and throttle combination was awkward. ( I am talking about the delay caused by the programming of the computer - "Drive by wire"). I joked about driving a brand new Uno.

Findings: - The instability found is only a perception caused by the narrow tyres fitted. The car actually does have an abundance of grip of offer. The perceived instability has also caused me to slow down a little bit, which is not a bad thing. - I adapted my driving style to the throttle response. And have found in first gear if you just touch the throttle for a second before you release the clutch, the computer actually goes into a form of "anti-stall" mode. Which is quite brilliant - You can idle out any incline easily. - The narrow tyres has an insane amount of grip on a dirt track. ( I stay on a farm, thus the Kwid has done about 30% of its millage on a dirt road. - The A/C works perfectly!

To sum it up: - I have completed 45000kms in 14 months driving a Kwid with no hassles at an average of 18.6 km/l. ( It could have been better, but my foot is a bit heavy and my daily route is twisty with multiple inclines ) - Services has been cheap so far. - The car is high enough for to go of the beaten track. (Just remember the sump is plastic, thus keep your wheels on the high ground)

Treat it nicely and be reasonable with your expectations and you will be pleasantly surprised.
