Renault Kempton Park are ****mers
On Friday before the 22nd , around 3pm we were going to a funeral and after stopping at the garage I noticed a flashing sign and the screen written check engine. My family decided that we should go back home. I then called the Eastgate branch and they said their workshop is closing soon and I should bring it on Saturday or Monday. I called the Kempton Park branch on Monday, and they said I must bring it on Wednesday the 22nd October. On the 22nd of October I took my car to Renault Kempton Park as it was due for 45000k service. My car was on 40579km when I took it in. After they examined the car, service consultant gave me a call and told me that the pencil coils have melted, and they are now waiting for approval from the warranty team. A day later they came back and said that the warranty team has requested a comprehensive test and because the pencil coils are melted, they must strip the Turpot cover and I must agree to a payment of +-R700.00 should the warranty not pay. I agreed to pay the R700 as I wanted them to fix the car. A week went by, and I was told that the warranty has not responded. On the 30th Oct I logged a call with Renault SA, and on the 31st Oct I received a call from the branch manager that the warranty team will provide feedback before the end of the day. Later that day, I received a call from the consultant and technician telling me that the warranty has declined my claim because they believe that the car has been faulty since last year and I didn’t bring it time. The suggestion was that I should pay for it and the quote that they gave me was +-R12k. I told them to go ahead and do it and to my surprise I was told that the parts department needs a 75% deposit before they can start working on the car. Also, the turpot cover is not available in the country and it will take them 21 days to get it. I also noticed that R700 for the Turpot cover that I was told about has gone up to +-R3.800. I requested a proforma invoice for the 75% and I was told that they do not issue them, they can only estimate what the amount is. It’s been 3 weeks without my car and when I suggested to take it to another dealership, I was told that I cannot drive it.
