Renault FREE Insurance BAD IDEA
I purchased a brand new Renault Kwid 1.0 Expression 5dr in September 2018. The car came with a 12 month promotional insurance cover with Nzalo Insurance trading as Rodel Insurance. On January 2019, 23rd I was involved in a accident. March 18, 2019 my car was written off. March 26, Renault SA took over my claim due to Nzalo being liquidated. June, 26 my situation remains the same. July 2nd was the first time Renault made contact with me regarding my claim but with very little information. On the 5th September, I received documents for a substitution vehicle. I was required to pay the excess fee in order for my vehicle to be released. On the 11th September, that payment was made. On the 16th September I was told that the dealership will contact me regarding delivery of my car. The dealership contacted me on the 30th September to arrange collection of the vehicle for the 1st October. The car rental company contacted me on the 1st October to inform me that my rental term expired on the 30th September. I emailed Renault SA to ask for an extension. It has taken Renault 9 months to sort out my claim and yet all I am requesting for is an extension on the car rental for one more day. I was told that will be at my own expense. After everything Renault and Rodel SA has put me through, the least they can do is extend the rental date to one more day!!
