Renault Duster Clutch Fiasco

<p>We have a 2014 Duster 1.5 DCi 4x4 with just short of 50k on the clock and when we went down on 30/12/2016 while climbing a hill just outside of Howick the clutch packed up on us. I pulled to the side and tried the Renault Assist but they were of no assistance at all so I called my policy's assistance programme who arranged for us to be towed to the closest Renault in Pietermatitzburg. There they made us signe for a quote of around R16 500k for if the maintenance did not pay as the clutch is not seen as a warranty item. when we phoned then a week later the estmate had risen to R33.9k and the maintenance Liquid Capital had refused to pay as they said that it not caused due to normal wear and tear but that material had been removed and all sorts of *******. How could we have got in there to remove material? How can a Flywheel break - surely that should be covered under the warranty. The vehicle gave us no indication that there was a problem before this and had just been for her 45k service. As fo the Renault Assistance this in non exsistant. We had to Hire a vehice with which to complete our holiday and then as the Flywheel is on 21 day backorder from France had to ask for friends to come through to Pietermaritzburg to pick us and our trailer up. And we will have to once again beg around for a lift down again once the car is fixed to pick it up. The best quote came from Leo when we told him 3 people's job's were on the line and he said that there is nothing he can do in an angry voice.</p>
