Renault CLIO IV Petrol tank/Fuel Gauge

Warning - do not buy a Renault. I have a 2014 CLIO IV with a petrol tank problem since 2018 which was still under warranty with extended warranty from January 2019. The petrol stations have been struggling to reach the opening on the petrol tank when inserting their petrol nozzle. It seems as if the opening of the tank is now lower than it should be” and takes a long time to fill up the tank. I also had various problems with the car after the service warranty expired and when that expired the costs escalated and service consultants customer service decreased; experienced this at Renault Tokai and Paarden Eiland branches. They do not answer their phones, nor do they return your calls when you leave messages. Early in 2019 the petrol gauge started to move up/down and took to Renault to sort out. The response was that it wasn't an electrical fault and the petrol tank must come off to check. Several calls and months later I finally received a response to give them the go ahead to remove the petrol tank. The vehcile was taken to tehm but they never removed the petrol tank and the senior mechanic said that the petrol tank is faulty and I received the following report/quote; "Investigate - fuel tank R2100; "REPORT: Its was found that the filler neck of the feul tank has dropped into the fuel tank making it hard to put in fuel into the fuel tank. The fuel tank needs to be replaced as it cannot be repaired" and "NOTES The fuel sender unit in the the fuel tank is faulty causing the fuel reading to not read on the cluster" , Additional costs are "Week1 Vac Compl-Fuel R6631 and BulkC05 Tank-fuel R10043 - total price R21591". Also they told me that this is not covered under warranty as it expired in Dec 2018, nor is it covered under the extended warranty. I have read on HelloPeter that this is a common problem and I would like to warn people as this was my first brand new car, however NEVER will I buy a Renault. I am still driving with the fluctuating fuel gauge because I cannot afford to have this fixed. Has anyone had the same petrol tank/fuel gauge problem and bad service from Renault - I actually do not know what to do!!!!
