Renault Centurion- Unprofessional, rude, *****, and terrible service!
I would like to start by saying I am not usually one to complain, raise an issue or take something further. But in this case I feel I would be doing someone injustice if something is not done.Originally I just thought I would raise the issue on Hello Peter, only to find that several others have raised similar issues about the same dealership and branch in the past years with NOTHING being done. If someone had done something back then, I would not have been in my current situation. I bought a Renault Duster from Renault Centurion in December 2019 with the help of someone called Monique Vercueli (***). They told me the car was a demo model driven by one of the dealership's people and that there was nothing wrong with the car nor had anything been done to it before we bought it. We trusted the dealership and but the car. A few months later when the car was booked in for its service at the same dealership, we reported that there seemed to be a small amount of paint chipping off from the bumper. The Renault service team agreed that this was a paint warranty issue and that they would report it to warranty and get back to us when they can have the paint fixed. This feedback never came, after several follow up calls (with most of them being unanswered or not returned), we waited for the next service, and the next and the next! Nothing was being done, and the paint kept chipping away more and more. In September 2022 I finally had enough and drove to the Renault Services department again. I asked that they print out the service history papers where there are clear comments added to the documents that the client (me) reported the paint issue and that they were waiting for feedback from the warranties department. The warranties service officer was called to assist, he was extremely rude, did not even greet or talk to me, spoke over me to the people who were trying to assist, telling them that I should come back when the person who assisted me with the last service was here. I was upset and told him directly that I refuse to be shown away again with no answer, and that I wished to speak to the manager. The floor manager, Mr Whaldu Soukup showed up, looked at the service history, looked at the car, confirmed that Renault had not sent any information to the warranties department since my first report, and then sent me off to go get quotes for what it would cost t have the paint redone, with the understanding that Renault would pay for it if I Provided Comparative quotes. Comparative quotes were provided to Mr Soukup, upon which he rep**** that he did not say they would pay for the damages, but that he would now finally, since 2019, only report it to the Renault Warranty department.Since then he has provided feedback that Renault now say they will not pay for the paint to be fixed as the chances are that the previous owners (who I was told were Renault Centurion) had possibly altered the car bumper and resprayed it.
WELL THEN! My understanding of this and complaint: The vehicle was either sold to me under false pretense and lies by Renault Centurion Dealership, and they had the car resprayed- for this they would then have record of it and can also claim the paint warranty OR pay for it now based on bad faith from the start. or The vehicle is still under warranty, Renault provided terrible service by only acting on a complaint started in 2019, now, and need to apologise and pay for the damages. I would like Renault South Africa and Renault Global/Motus Group to be aware of this terrible service at Renault Centurion. I implore you to do some research and you will find (just from hello Peter) how terrible they actually are! And please just DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT for a change so that others are not done in like me!I will be reporting this to Hello Peter, the press, and all the banks who finance vehicles so that they are aware of this risk.
PS: I have the proof of the vehicle purchased, as well as the printed out service history papers, and the email trail between myself and the services manager. So I have sufficient support for the validity of my complaint.
