Renault Capture 2016 with mechanical fault
Roadside assistance took my Renault Capture into Renault Stikland Bellville on 6 June as car would not start although dashboard lights came on . I was informed on 7 June that my 5 year warrenty is void as i did not service my vehicle by renault dealer on its 60 000km. Vehicle was serviced by registerd RMI dealer who stamped my book. I fetched my car and after waying pro and cons took it back to Renault on 18 June. They had to remove the top and sent it to engineers to see what fault is after compression test results showed mechanical failure. After calling and sending mails daily i got a quote on 5 July but was notified on 8 July they can not give me report as they still waiting for engineer to give final amount. Again i had to call and mail daily as to progress of quote and report. Nobody could tell me what is wrong with vehicle. On 15 July i received a quote from service advisor then i got another quote from service manager upon which i gave go ahead to repair. Some parts were received by them on 26 July and valves ETA was 2 Aug. Monday 5 August at 12h00 I called again, left messages , called 15h15 to hear what is happening and had to call the parts manager who could not get into Renault website and tell me what the delay is. I called again 16:30. Then i get email with hi ETA date is 26 August. I am very unsatisfied with the communication and how they treat clients. Messages are not returned if you leave one, emails are not answered. Nobody (incl service manager/dealer principal/ area manager wc) has decency to tell me exactly what is wrong with my vehicle as i presume it is more than just values. I have had to make alternative arrangements since 4 June to travel to and from work. I have a daughter that needs to be transported to Paarl. How can valves take so long to order. I am very frustrated as Renault has quoted me R22923 to have vehicle repaired for what they say: failure on vehicle caused by timing chain tensioner that has mechincal fault which caused timing chain to move out of sync causeing valves to bend. So mechanical failure is nto caused by RMI dealer or Renault due to servicing of car. How can one wait so long to have vehicle repaired. Service is really pathetic.
