Renault Captur 1.2DEC

My wife has owned VW products for the past 30 plus years and done 200000 plus km in all of them with no major problems and great reliability, the last one being a 2.0 Diesel Tiguan. We recently decided to purchase a small SUV / MPV type vehicle as the Tiguan was starting to give electrical problems. VW has become too expensive so the wife sent me out to test drive what was available on the second hand market. Also had to be an automatic. Here are my personal findings. Mitsubishi ASX. Horrible cvt gearbox. Put your foot down, all noise and nothing happens. Suzuki Vitara 1.5 and Haval H2. Again put you foot down, revs redline and its a donkey. Ford Kuga 1.5. Bit more refined but still power delivery all or nothing. Then at the last dealership there was a Renault Captur 1.2 DEC standing there and the salesman said take it for a spin. 5 km of test drive and wow, what a winner. Wife took it for a test drive and purchased it immediately. That little 1,2 turbo motor with the DEC gearbox work so well together and the car is very nippy and enjoyable to drive. Car is refined and quiet and I keep on thinking there's a much bigger motor under the bonnet. Cruises on the highway at 130 at only 2800rpm. I have read all the negative reports of customer service and unreliability of the Renault brand but am hoping that we may be one of the lucky ones who will be able to do 200000 km in this little beauty but if not I will ***** and moan like the rest. In the meantime We are going to enjoy our little Renault for as long as possible
