Poor service
Poor Renault Parow Cape Town Customer Experience! I bought a brand new Renault Triber Zen (I was told it was new) from Renault in Parow Cape Town. It was my first time purchasing a new car as I am tired of second hand cars with their problems. On the 23rd December 2022 I received the car. The very same day within an hour of leaving the Renault premises I saw that the gear nob lever cover was broken and I immediately drove back to Renault to report it. I was told that it needs to be booked in (already there I was disappointed as it’s supposed to be a new car). I was also then told by the sales person that there are defects in the paint on the boot, of which they will polish it out but all places are closed and opens next year. I had to leave Renault very unhappy thinking to myself: “didn’t I buy a new car but look at this…”. Hoping that Renault will call me back to sort this out. On the 26 December 2022 I went to a holiday resort which I booked in advance. On arrival with my family I noticed that the car didn’t want to lock (driver’s side door). Now this really made me upset because this is supposed to be a new car and this is the 3rd thing now. I contacted the sales person “Babalwa” and she told me what to do and I sent her videos as proof of the car not locking. She said I must bring the car back on the 28th December 2022. I took it back and they kept the car for a few hours and fixed the door locking problem. I also brought to their attention that the clutch release bearing is rattling. I was notified later that day, the car is done and all is sorted. When I collected the car the door locking problem was fixed but I was not told what was wrong (causes therefor) with it, as I would have liked to know what the issue or fault was (imagine it happened again). The boot paint was not sorted and I was told that the rattling sound of the release bearing is normal (I mean seriously). Now just to explain the experience of being at a holiday resort with a car not being able to lock. My kids were promised the outing and we had to cut it short due to the insecurity of knowing the car is in a parking area open without our supervision. This was a really unpleasant festive period with my family and brought unpleasantness within my marriage too. This all for buying a new car at Renault Parow… I called Renault Parow on 29th December 2022 as this car really bothered me, as I put all my trust in Renault and not knowing what will come up next with the car. I was called by the Manager “Richard” who apologized for the inconvenience but he didn’t sound any sorry for what happened. It seemed that he just said sorry and wanted to get rid of me. He told me that every car even new cars is not guaranteed with no issues and all that matters is that the issues has now been fixed(they not all FIXED) and that should any other issues arise we know where they are based and they will be able to fix it. (I BOUGHT A NEW CAR TO AVOID SUCH ISSUES) He kept saying that the issue is now sorted as they fixed everything. This made it sound as if he only called me to tell me they fixed it and now I should let it go. This bothered me the entire day while at work as I now have no faith in the new car I bought and I still need to pay off for the next 5 years that is already giving issues from day one. I then emailed a female with the name Veroshee, who told me these vehicles come with a 5 year factory warranty and again reiterated to me that the issues above has been repaired. (Again making me feel that I am getting nowhere). I then continued expressing how unhappy I am about this and mentioned to her I bought this car through bank finance which means I will still be paying my full installments monthly for a car that was not even 7 days old and already repaired. She pointed out to me that I will be owing the bank and not Renault, with so much attitude making me again feel like I am getting nowhere. I asked cant my car be replaced with a new car to give me piece of mind and this was also made sound impossible. Renault got their full money for this car that does not even feel like a new car with everything going on, this might sound like small issues however I am paying for this full price and expect to receive nothing less for what I am paying. They were very quick to help with the sale part but now I am expected to be up and down for repairs on a car I bought for my convenience. My concern towards them was, how do I know if this was a new car seeing that it had defects from day one. I asked if they can’t give me a other car with no defects. I was told it’s too complicated as it’s a preown car now. I mean it’s not my fault that they didn’t do a quality check before they gave me the car. Even so, why sell a car with such defaults as a new car. This is wrong!!! A big company such as Renault to do such things and think nothing of a customer. I as a customer work so hard every day to put bread on the table for my family. Now that I have reached this goal to be able to eventually purchase a new car to enjoy with my family, but to be sold a “supposed to be new car” with problems within 7 days is really disappointing. I would really appreciate it if a manager above Renault Parow “Richard” to contact me and tell me what can be done for me going forward as I am not happy with this car
