Poor service and quality (Renault clio 4)

<p>I have purchased a brand new Renault Clio 4 in the middle of 2015. The car has done 30000km and when I took it in for service I was told that the front brake pads need replacing. I had no option but to replace the pads for safety reasons at a cost of over R1700.</p> <p>I done some research on the Internet and Facebook about the car and it is clear that there is a big problem with the brakes pad wearing out quickly. I then proceeded to call Renault South Africa to get answers as to why this is happening. After trying in vein to get a response I commented on Facebook Renault South Africa page and finally someone responded to say that Renault would call me if I left my phone number. After waiting over 2 weeks for a response they still did not contact me. I eventually managed to get hold of someone at Renault via the live chat on their website. Again I was told to leave my phone number. I have the entire conversation between Renault and myself in writing. The following week I was finally contacted.</p> <p>I spoke to the assistant who gave me a long speech on why the brake pads wear out so quickly. The reason was basically that brake pads are now made to be environmentally friendly and thus are made of a difference compound. I lastly asked the assistant to send me an email to explain the reasons for the poor quality brake pads.</p> <p>My argument is that it is us as consumers who have to pay for those brake pads and Renault are not making a good quality product. Whether it is environmentally friendly or not it needs to last a decent amount of time. It's almost like we are getting a half-baked product. It is not practical to have to change pads every 20 to 30000 kms. It is very dangerous too that brakes can wear out so quickly which can put motorists at risk. I mean no one expects to have to replace them so quickly.</p> <p> </p> <p>Surely these brakes need to be subsidised in cost as its clearly stillin a testing phase</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
