PLEASE DONT BUY A RENAULT

PLEASE CAREFULLY RECONSIDER IF YOU WERE THINKING OF BUYING A RENAULT.

My girlfriend bought a brand new Renault Duster from Renault Bryanston. Out of coincidence I took the car to have the wheel alignment done before a long trip as I always do before any long trip, only to find the the rear right wheel's camber was off by 2 degrees on a brand new car. Odd, right as two different wheel alignment technicians pointed out that that is very wrong and will wear the tyre unevenly. As the car was brand new I advised her to take it up with Renault to sort out the problem. The dealership (Renault Bryanston) then pushed her from pillar to post saying their wheel alignment machine. Eventually after having the car for a week they finally sent the car to another dealership which then confirmed the issue. With the findings they then said they needed to contact Renault SA to hear what to do.

Here's where it gets fun. Renault SA then also confirmed that the problem with the car and needed to contact Renault France for advise on what to do. Well it has been two months since that with absolutely little to no contact or communication from Renault.

Today she went to go and pick up her car from the dealership (WITH ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAVE HAD BEEN DONE IN 2 MONTHS) only to find that they have lost her tow hitch cover, and left the car in an appalling state of filth. She phoned me now in tears after telling me she had gone to the manager/ dealer principles office who offered little to no sympathy about the situation.

In a day and time when everyone complains and throws their toys out the cot for small customer service issues, she decided to remain civil, not shout or be aggressive towards anyone. With that being said... We have now decide to take this up with the Motor Industry Ombudsman.

Renault your service is disgusting. I am ashamed for you.

If you own a Renault Duster in South Africa please go and have your wheel alignment done. Make sure they have not done the same thing to you.
