NEVER BUY A RENAULT

This is the blurb - Renault ranks amongst South Africa's motor industry in affordable parts pricing (this is the first joke!). Parts availability is ensured in Renault dealerships (second joke!). Now, if you have a car under warranty, then your'll be offered mobility - unlucky for me, my car is not under warranty so I got nothing (third joke!)<br> I needed 3 parts to get me car on the road and guess what, they had to come from France. Having experienced a merry go round before, I offered to pay for the courier to bring my parts as the delay was going to be about 3 weeks - this was unacceptable to McCarthy's or Renault, not sure which! We're not a 2 car family so had to hire a car at R200 a day (holiday season and this was the best offer I could get). The parts actually took over 4 weeks which landed me a bill for around R6000 for car hire. The car was fixed and running another check McCarthy's found that my radiator was leaking - I asked how much to fix and was quoted R5000+. I called Masterparts in Durban and bought a new radiator for R680 incl VAT - picked it up and drove to Renault to install. The final bill from Renault was R16324 so I asked if I could make a payment plan - NO WAY!
