Never Again!

In 2013 I bought a brand new Renault Sandero Stepway 1.6. I have not had one single day of pleasure owning this vehicle. From day one I have only had problems. Today was just the last straw, took it in for its 90000km service and this alone cost me an arm and a leg, and by an arm and a leg I mean to the extend of almost R8000.00!!

When I dropped off the car this morning I complained about a noise coming from the engine when the clutch is not pressed in. When I went to pick the car up I was told that this is the gearbox and that I would need to bring the car in once again, note that I've been waiting for a starter for more than three weeks that needs to be replaced under warranty, while I'm waiting, I have to try to start the car every time up to 4 times before the engine starts running. Anyway, the gearbox, I said to the lady working at the counter that I would have it done once the starter comes. She then informs me that I would have to pay R4200 upfront before they even open the gearbox. Only once it’s been opened they can decide whether this would be covered under warranty. I find this absolutely ridiculous that I have to pay this X amount before any work is done. This is YOUR product that has broken under warranty, why do I have to pay and then later you will decide who will be liable for damages. Look, I know that this is not a Renault in actual fact, but Renault should not be putting their badge behind a vehicle that is of this bad quality. I have tried selling the car just to get rid of it, but I can’t even get half of the money I paid for it now. Due to all of the above and many other things that is not mentioned, I will never in my life even consider buying a Renault again, bad product, bad after sales service, bad service, way overpriced parts, no parts available for months, poor quality and after a few years its worth almost nothing!
