Horrified and shocked at Renault
My daughter bought a Renault Kiger from Renault Hillcrest 5 months ago. we collected the car on the Saturday morning and on the following Tuesday it was sent back because of central locking that didnt work when we drove off the car stayed unlocked. and noises coming from underneath the car etc. We had a loan car for nearly a month. It is now going on 5 months and the car started making the most terrible noise when we changed from 2nd to 3rd gear and when we reversed. We are actually scared to drive the car, as not knowing what damage it will do. I took the car into Renault Durban. The lady who received the car said they know about the noise it happens the certain cars. I was horrified. When the car was returned to us that evening on the service slip it said it had a noise coming from the clutch but it would go away eventually. My point immediately was all the sales Team and the Managers seem to know about this noise but when we bought the car it was never mentioned?????? It is a month later now and I have sent numerous emails to Renault and the answers are it wont damage the car and it is a common noise, it will eventually go away. The noise remains and it is loud. How can you guarantee it is not damaging my car? And why would anyone want to drive a brand new car which makes a shocking noise??? If I had to sell that car now I would get nothing for it? Renault know what the problem is....so sort it out???? When purchasing a brand new car is it not correct for the dealership to disclose this information to us???? We would NEVER have bought a Renault knowing it had flaws. If there is a problem with Renault cars they should be recalled. Do you think a Employee of Renault would buy a car that makes a loud noise when reversing???? This is absolutely disgusting that we are now stuck with the Kiger and it is worth nothing. I DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE A BRAND NEW CAR THAT MAKES A NOISE. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE
