Example in POOR customer service
Absolute WORST customer service I have ever experienced..
My one-year old Renault Duster malfunctioned a few months back, and after I caught Renault Roodepoort - Motus trying to pin the fault on me [claiming I had put petrol in my diesel car, which was a complete lie], they then proceeded to fix the actual problem - a broken turbo in a new car [don't even ask].
However, after the car was "fixed", the warning light that came on the day it malfunctioned kept coming on despite there being nothing wrong with the car anymore. After taking the car back to them 3 or 4 times to have it fixed, which they didn't / couldn't do, despite each time claiming that it had been fixed, I gave up hope and when my car was due for a service a short while later I took it to Renault Clearwater.
In the meantime I lay a complaint with Renault SA about the above, but never received so much as an acknowledgement to my email. Nice.
During the service Renault Clearwater confirmed that there WAS still an error due to some damaged this or that, but long story short, Renault SA were refusing to fix my car with the necessary part [bear in mind my car is still under warranty], so there we went again.. Great service!
Initially the customer service advisor kept me in the loop as they supposedly "fought" with Renault SA, but I then stopped hearing from her too and once again it was me having to phone and chase up, only to hear that Renault SA was not responding to their emails blah blah blah.
Point is.. My car is under warranty, and Renault SA is refusing to fix it, which means they are not fulfilling their part of the deal we made when I purchased the car.
I am at the point of reporting it to the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa as I am fed up with being messed around by Renault, who - in the last few months - has given me more bad customer service than I had experienced combined in my 47 years on planet earth beforehand.
If you're thinking about buying a Renault... Don't. Go somewhere else where they actually give a toss about their customers.
