"Driving Bad Service - Renault Tokai"
I have posted a previous review under the heading "Buyers Remorse". I would like to add further the following. After my 75000 km service Renault Customer Service did a follow up with me. I relayed all the problems I encountered. One of the suggestions was as follows: "Have you tried using a different dealership?" I live in the Southern Suburbs. Renault does a courtesy morning drop off but no pick up. Do these people realise that the average collection time for the average person is 4 pm. Now lets apply the "reasonable man test or the average person test".
The reasonable man will apply his mind and will have to make some sort of arrangement to collect his/her m/v. Lets take the ff into consideration. I purchased the vehicle from Tokai Multi Franchise because of the ff: Dealership in in the Southern Suburbs close to where I live. It was advertised as "Instant Pleasure in the all new turbo sandero. Standard with 2 yr service plan/5 yr mechanical warranty/ 6 yr anti corrosion warranty. After the 3 years I purchased and extended service plan from Liquid Capital which is under the umbrella of the Premier Group which in turn "owns" Associated Motor Holdings T/A Tokai Multi Franchise reg no *** with telephone no 021- ********** To date I have not received any correspondence/feedback from them.
M/V was purchased brand new. It has only done 76000 km in 4 years. That is an average of 18500 km per year. So my vehicle is serviced on average once a year.
If you look at the renault maintenance booklet which includes the service record on page 5 it clearly states the ff : " Levels and Circuit sealing ...........point 3 on the list.......inspection of the cooling system".
Firstly, if the technician had done his job and subsequently his superior/quality control the leak would have been detected because they made sure to include that i needed new wiper blades under "Heading .....equipment" but neglected to check "inspection of cooling system". Oh I received the customary call to ask if I would like to have my wiper blades replaced at a cost of R700 which in itself is a joke. True salespeople, upsell, upsell that's the name of the game. You see the cooling system was never topped up with coolant but with water or a very weak solution of coolant. As far as i know not once was the coolant top up by them. I always check the coolant and they always just add water. A renault mechanic/technician topping up a coolant reservoir with water on a .900 cc turbo engine made of aluminium.
Hooray Renault Tokai.......well done you hold the Renault name up high. You not driving change you driving bad service. Take not of what happened to Momentum.
