DON`T BUY RENAULT
Purchased a new Renault Qwid from Renault Paarden Island. First problem the exhaust kept breaking and eventually told that there was a problem with the exhaust and a new version was available but had to wait days for it to be fixed. Second problem, car smelt of something burning, opened bonnet and found oil leaking over manifold. Tappet cover cracked still under guarantee. Car taken to Renault Paarden Island and it took two days before I called for feedback. Later that day told it could take 4 to 5 days to get part and if not available in SA it would take between 3 to 4 weeks for part from India to arrive in Cape Town. It took only 7 days thankfully. Without a car for 7 days!!!!!!!!!! Received car back from Renault Paarden Island only to still smell oil burning, Stopped car and oil that had leaked had not been cleaned off engine, so when engine got hot it started to smoke again. Then I checked oil level only to find the oil level was low as a result of leak. As the repair was done under warranty I expected oil to be replaced, How does Renault return a vehicle to the client with the oil level low. Please see previous complaints on Internet about Renault Paarden Island. it seems Renault SA does nothing to remedy customer complaints about poor service from Renault Paarden Island. Dealers don't hold stock resulting in delays getting vehicle fixed. Unacceptable Renault SA.
