Dissapointed by Renault
Hi
In 2018 i purchased a car (Renault Sandero) from Imperial Zambezi, i must say the service was spectecular and i was really impressed. The car i had purchased was still at a mileage of 6000km so far me it was more like a new car. This was last year in August 2018. The car was still under warranty and service plan so it was a bonus for me. In December 2018 on the 27th i was booked to take the car for a service and i arrived there at 7:15am. Needless to say the lady who was assisting us there kindly told me to place the car so that she can book it in for service. I then told her that the car also had a leakage problem and that when it rains the rain goes inside the passager's side, this was the problem i had also phoned about. She then asked me if i park the car under trees and i said no, then she (without assessing the problem- which was an over sight on my side due to me trusting her) told me that it would be R850 to fix the car. As shocked as i was i then told her that it was fine, then she also then told me that my car will be due for service when it's at 20000km because it was serviced at 6000km. Without asking any questions i said ok as she works for Renault. The next day i was on my way to Limpopo and during the trip we decided to stop for 2 minutes for a toilet break (This was in the middle of Naboomspruit and Mokopane so it was in the middle of no where. When we tried to switch on the car, the engine did not start. We stood there for 15 minutes until coincidentaly someone we knew stopped to assist us, we had to push the car before it could start. We went on our way until we reached our destination, however when we went into the gate again the car could not start. The car had to be pushe "again" before it could start. The next day i contacted Renault immediately, and they were very quick to come fetch the car, however when i asked them about alternative transport, the told me i should book and then claim it from them. Due to the area that i was at, the only available car rental facility was in Polokwane which was 90km away, no Uber was available or taxify for that matter. The place i was situated at was a village so there was no available ATM around. I had planned to use my car the following saturday to go to town, wich i could not do due to the car not working. After the car was booked in which was on a saturday, I phoned them on monday to understand how far they are and they told me that they did not know as they had not received feedback. Then i asked when the car might be ready and still my question could not be answered. This was the same case on Wednesday 2nd, 3rd of Jan 2019. But on the 4th, they then told me that they are short staffed and that they only have 1 technician and the other technician will only come week of the 14th Jan 2019, this was after i told them that i needed to know so that i can make arrangements. On Mon 07th Jan 2019 they phoned to tell that the problem was the starter and that since the car is still under warranty Renault will pay for it. I then asked how a problem like this would happen if the car is still under 20000km and the lady said that she would ask the technician then call to give me an answer. It's days later i am still waiting and i have yet to receive my car. They told me that the starter takes 3 -4 days to order and the installation takes 2-3 weeks. Not once have they asked me how i am getting to work especially because i was turned back at the Renault Zambezi Garage. I find this unacceptable because right now i am spending money on things i did not budget for and paying for a car i am not driving. At this point i will NEVER buy any Renault car nor recommend it to any one. This was my first car and i was thoughroughly dissapointed.
