Dishonest salesperson - RENAULT STEP-WAY

I am surprised to see so many reviews about Renault for the past few weeks and since I have just cancelled a cash deal with the Renault Dealer in Old Fort Road Durban, I also want to share my dissapointing experience. On Friday 5 February 2021, when I went to collect the Stepway for which I had paid cash. I was shown a completely different car, which was not explained until I queried why the mileage is different. I discovered this by chance while waiting to sign relevant documentation to release the car. When I asked the salesman, he said "Oh I was going to tell you that the other car had a radiator problem and this will be a better car for you., the brakes on this car have been fixed and its safer!!!! ON further inspection of the car - my son noticed the paint work was in a bad state, The salesman said - "Oh I didnt see that", in fact he admitted that he didnt even check the car before my collection. and still has the nerve to get polish and cloth and try remove the marks..... really now.... The Manager, apparently, also was not aware of the 'original' car's problem - said he will look into the matter. I cancelled the deal early Saturday morning. I finally got my cash back Wednesday 10 Feb. I hate to think what would had happened if I had driven out of those premises and noticed other 'issues' which some people have reviewed here. Scary - people need to be so careful nowadays.
